Noida Accident: 5-Year-Old Killed After BMW Rams Scooty in Sector 30, Two Others Critical

In the calm of a late Saturday night, a tragedy unfolded on the roads of Noida’s Sector 30 — one that has since sent shockwaves through the city.

Gul Mohammad, a resident of Sadarpur Khajur Colony near Sector 45, was rushing his ailing 5-year-old daughter, Ayat, to the hospital. She had been suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. It was around 12:30 AM when Gul, along with his brother-in-law Raja, set out on a scooter towards the Post Graduate Institute of Child Health in Sector 30.

But before they could even reach the hospital, their path was brutally cut short.

Noida Car Accident

A speeding BMW 520D — coming from the wrong direction — rammed into their scooter near Gate Number 3. The impact was so severe that all three were thrown off the two-wheeler and onto the road. Despite being rushed to the district hospital, young Ayat was declared dead on arrival. Gul Mohammad and Raja sustained serious injuries and are now battling for their lives in the hospital.

Noida Car Accident

Students Behind the Wheel

The car, bearing a Haryana registration number, was driven by 22-year-old Yash Sharma from Sector 37, Noida. His co-passenger, Abhishek Rawat, is a restaurant owner from Sector 70. Both were arrested on the spot by Sector 20 police and the BMW was seized immediately. According to initial reports, both individuals were college students, and police are investigating whether they were under the influence of alcohol at the time.

The police also revealed that CCTV footage is being analyzed to determine the exact sequence of events and confirm the accusations of reckless and drunk driving. Initial findings do indicate over-speeding and negligent behavior behind the wheel.

Devastation Beyond One Incident

Just a day before the Noida accident, another deadly crash occurred in Greater Noida’s Badalpur area. Three young men, traveling on a scooty, were hit by an unidentified vehicle near the Sadopur canal. Faizan and Anas succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Mohan Swaroop Hospital in Dadri, while the third rider remains critical.

These back-to-back tragedies are raising urgent questions: Are our roads safe anymore? And how many more lives must be lost before accountability truly takes shape?

Community in Uproar

The community has been left devastated, and the public has taken to social media demanding stricter laws, better road safety, and stricter punishment for drunk and rash driving.

Police are now working with full force — both Yash Sharma and Abhishek Rawat are in custody, the BMW has been impounded, and a case under multiple IPC sections has been filed. Medical tests are also underway to confirm alcohol consumption.

As Noida reels under the weight of this loss, another haunting reminder surfaces — how fragile life on Indian roads has become.
