JP Nadda Admitted to AIIMS Delhi After Uneasiness, Under Observation

JP Nadda AIIMS admission came after the Union Health Minister experienced uneasiness on Thursday evening, August 13, 2026, following which he was evaluated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.

The 65-year-old minister underwent a series of medical tests, including a coronary angiography, at the hospital. According to AIIMS, Nadda is currently stable and has been admitted to the Department of Cardiology for observation.

AIIMS issued the health update on Friday, confirming that Nadda was evaluated after reporting uneasiness. The hospital said the assessment included coronary angiography, a diagnostic procedure used to examine the coronary arteries and identify possible blockages or other abnormalities.

The hospital has not disclosed the detailed findings of the angiography or stated that Nadda has been diagnosed with any specific cardiac condition. For now, the official information is limited to his stable condition and continued observation by the cardiology team.

Nadda’s admission comes while he continues to hold two important portfolios in the Union government. He is the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare as well as Chemicals and Fertilizers in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet.

The minister has a long political career spanning state and national politics. He first entered the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1993 and later served as a minister in the Himachal Pradesh government.

At the national level, Nadda became a Rajya Sabha member in 2012 and was subsequently given charge of the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry in 2014. He served in the health ministry until 2019 before taking on a larger organisational role in the BJP.

Nadda became the BJP’s National Working President in 2019 and was elected party president in January 2020. He continued in the post until 2026.

His latest hospitalisation has drawn attention because of his role as the country’s Union Health Minister. However, the hospital’s statement currently indicates that he is stable, and there is no official information suggesting a critical condition.

Senior cardiologists and medical staff are monitoring him at AIIMS. Further information about his treatment, the angiography findings and his possible discharge is expected to depend on the outcome of the ongoing clinical observation.

For now, the key update from AIIMS is that Nadda remains stable and under medical supervision. Any assessment of his future official engagements will likely follow the doctors’ advice and the next medical update from the hospital.
