LPG Price Hike: Commercial Cylinder Rates Jump Across Cities, Domestic Prices Remain Unchanged

LPG price hike has once again pushed up the cost of commercial gas cylinders across India, adding pressure on businesses already dealing with rising input costs. The latest revision, effective April 1, 2026, has increased the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹195.50, according to officials.

In Delhi, a commercial cylinder now costs ₹2,078.50. This comes just weeks after a previous hike of ₹114.50 on March 4, indicating a steady upward trend in fuel prices. Other major cities have also seen similar increases, reflecting the nationwide impact of the revision.

The sharp rise in commercial LPG prices is expected to directly impact sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and small businesses that rely heavily on bulk gas supply. Industry insiders say that increased operating costs could soon translate into higher food prices and service charges for consumers.

While commercial users face another cost burden, domestic LPG consumers have received some relief for now. Officials confirmed that there has been no change in household cylinder prices in this latest revision.

Domestic LPG prices were last revised earlier in March 2026, when a ₹60 increase was implemented. Since then, rates have remained stable across the country.

Experts attribute the recent surge in LPG prices to rising global energy costs amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia. The conflict involving Iran and the US-Israel axis has disrupted supply chains and tightened crude oil availability, pushing prices higher in international markets.

Despite the global pressure, India continues to manage supply through diversified sourcing routes. Officials indicate that shipments through key maritime routes like the Strait of Hormuz have remained operational, helping maintain domestic availability.

However, with global oil prices remaining volatile, further fluctuations in LPG rates cannot be ruled out. For now, businesses are bracing for higher costs, while households await the next revision cycle for any potential changes.
