A Hero’s Act Amid Panic
According to eyewitness Manjeet Dhillon, who shared the incident on Instagram, the man immediately noticed the woman’s distress and pulled the train’s emergency chain to stop it. “It all started around 1 a.m. at Ram Mandir station. The woman’s baby was halfway out — half inside, half outside. It truly felt like God had sent this brother there for a reason,” Dhillon wrote in his post.
Despite never having faced such a situation before, the man remained calm and sought help through a video call with a female doctor, who guided him step-by-step through the delivery. In a video shared online, the man is heard saying, “Pehli baar kiya hai jeevan mein maine yeh. Itna darr lag raha tha na, par video call pe madam ne help kiya” (It’s the first time I’ve done this in my life. I was so scared, but the madam helped me on video call).
The doctor’s guidance and the man’s courage ensured both the baby and the mother were safely delivered before medical help arrived.
Hospital’s Refusal Adds to the Tragedy
As per the eyewitness account, the woman’s family had earlier taken her to a nearby hospital, but were denied admission and told to seek treatment elsewhere. With no time left, they boarded a train in desperation — a decision that could have turned tragic had it not been for the stranger’s quick response.
“It’s truly shameful that a hospital refused to help a mother in such a situation,” Dhillon’s post read, reflecting the anger and disappointment shared by many online.
Internet Applauds His Humanity
The story quickly went viral, with thousands of users flooding social media to hail the man’s selfless act. “Goosebumps! Rare to see such brave human beings in today’s world!” one user commented. Another wrote, “Indeed a great job! Respect for your humanity.”
A third added, “Real hero without a uniform.” The incident has since become a symbol of compassion and unity in one of the busiest cities in India.
