PM Modi launches Mumbai One App: India’s first integrated travel platform for seamless commuting across Mumbai

Mumbai One App has been officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as India’s first fully integrated mobility platform, designed to transform the way Mumbaikars travel. The app brings together 11 major public transport services across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) into one unified digital ecosystem, enabling users to plan, book, and pay for their entire journey using a single app and QR code.

A New Era of Seamless Urban Travel

The Mumbai One App aims to make daily commuting more convenient by integrating all major transport systems — including Mumbai Metro Lines 1, 2A, 3, and 7, Mumbai Monorail, Navi Mumbai Metro, Mumbai Suburban Railways, and bus services operated by BEST, Thane Municipal Transport, Mira-Bhayander Municipal Transport, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Transport, and Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport.

Through this unified platform, commuters can check real-time schedules, plan routes, purchase digital tickets, and make payments without switching between multiple apps or standing in queues. A single dynamic QR ticket can be used across different modes of transport, saving both time and effort for millions of daily travellers.

Empowering Mumbaikars Under #MumbaiInMinutes

The Mumbai One App forms a crucial part of the MMRDA’s broader initiative, #MumbaiInMinutes, which envisions enabling citizens to travel to any corner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in under 59 minutes.
The initiative has been implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and guided by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Their collective focus is to make Maharashtra a model for smart, connected, and sustainable cities in India.

According to Bharat Details, the government believes this project will not only improve travel convenience but also reduce congestion and carbon emissions, ultimately contributing to a cleaner, faster, and greener Mumbai.

Aligned with Digital India Vision

The Mumbai One App is a significant step forward in realizing the vision of Digital India, an initiative led by Prime Minister Modi to build technology-driven solutions for everyday challenges. This app eliminates the need for physical tickets, paper passes, or separate booking systems — making travel management as simple as one tap.

For daily commuters, this means fewer delays, shorter travel times, and improved accessibility. The app’s intuitive design offers a map-based interface showing nearby stations, routes, and even points of interest for tourists. It also includes an SOS safety feature to ensure quick emergency assistance, making it one of the most commuter-friendly platforms in the country.

Transforming Mumbai’s Mobility Infrastructure

Officials explained that the Mumbai One App was designed to improve coordination among multiple transport networks while enhancing passenger experience through digital integration. Commuters can now monitor train and bus timings in real time, view fare details, and get live updates about delays or alternative routes — all in one app.

The launch of this mobility platform coincided with two other major projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi — the Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Colaba–Bandra–SEEPZ) and the Navi Mumbai International Airport. Phase 1 of the airport, built over 1,160 hectares under a public-private partnership model, is expected to handle 90 million passengers annually, complementing the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Together, these developments mark a transformative phase in Mumbai’s infrastructure growth and urban connectivity.

One App, Infinite Possibilities

With the Mumbai One App, Mumbai has taken a decisive leap into the future of urban travel. The app’s unified design embodies India’s growing focus on sustainable, smart, and digital mobility. By merging convenience, technology, and inclusivity, this innovation ensures that every Mumbaikar can experience a truly connected city — where every journey is just one tap away.
