The government plans to make Mumbai 1 card available throughout the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) in the next few weeks.
According to a Hindustan Times report, a railway official shared, βThe card will allow a passenger to book one single ticket from point A to B, using multiple modes of transport, eliminating the need for buying separate tickets.β

- The card follows a pay-as-you-go model
- A replacement fee of Rs 100 will apply if the card is lost or damaged

Alongside the card launch, 238 air-conditioned (AC) suburban trains have been introduced. These will eventually replace non-AC trains in two phases, offering a more comfortable journey for daily commuters.
