Salman Khan’s Reaction to the Threats
Speaking to the media at a recent event promoting his upcoming Eid release, Sikandar, Salman addressed the ongoing threats with a philosophical approach.
“Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai. Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai.”
(God, Allah, everything depends on Him. My life span is already decided. The only issue is having to move around with heavy security.)
Despite the dangers, Salman continues to fulfill his professional commitments and has not let fear dictate his actions.
The Background of the Threats
- Salman Khan has been receiving threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for the past two years.
- His residence in Bandra was attacked in April last year.
- The Bishnoi gang reportedly seeks revenge over the alleged blackbuck poaching case from 1997.
- Salman’s security has been increased, yet he remains active in the industry.
A Longstanding Feud with the Bishnoi Gang
The threats against Salman Khan date back to 2018 when Lawrence Bishnoi openly warned that the actor would be killed for allegedly hunting a blackbuck, an animal revered by the Bishnoi community. More recently:
- Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the attack on Salman’s home.
- In November, Salman received another threat demanding Rs 5 crore as an apology.
- The gang insists that Salman should publicly apologize or face the consequences.
Upcoming Film: Sikandar
Amidst the threats, Salman is gearing up for the release of Sikandar, where he stars alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is expected to perform well at the box office.
At the trailer launch, Salman confidently stated:
“Picture achi ho ya buri ho, par Eid, Diwali aise sab time pe aati hai toh woh Rs 100 crore toh paar kara hi dete hain… Rs 100 crore bohot pehle ki baat hain, ab Rs 200 crore.” (Good or bad, a film released during Eid or Diwali easily crosses Rs 100 crore… Now, the target is Rs 200 crore.)
