What Happened After the Match
According to information shared by a senior journalist, Jaiswal had been dealing with stomach cramps while on the field. Despite the discomfort, he completed the match before his condition worsened significantly later in the night.
He was rushed to Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad, where doctors carried out detailed medical examinations, including CT scans and ultrasound (USG) tests. The reports confirmed acute gastroenteritis, following which he was put on intravenous medication.
Doctors have advised the 23-year-old batter to continue medication and take adequate rest. There are no indications of complications at this stage.
Played Through Pain for Mumbai
Despite visible discomfort, Jaiswal featured in the high-scoring encounter and contributed 15 runs off 16 balls as Mumbai chased down a challenging target of 217 runs.
Mumbai’s victory was set up by Ajinkya Rahane, who remained unbeaten on 72, and Sarfaraz Khan, who played a blistering knock of 73 off just 22 balls. Mumbai eventually won the match by three wickets, though the team was later eliminated from the tournament.
No Official BCCI Update Yet
As of now, the BCCI has not issued an official statement regarding Jaiswal’s health. However, further updates are expected once the medical team completes its assessment and recovery timeline.
Strong Form Before Health Scare
The hospitalisation comes at a time when Jaiswal has been in impressive form across formats. In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 145 runs in three matches, averaging 48.33 with a strike rate of 168.6.
He also had a memorable outing in India’s recent ODI series against South Africa, scoring 156 runs in three matches at an average of 78, including his maiden ODI century, further cementing his position as one of India’s most promising openers.

Recovery Outlook
With no immediate international assignments and not being part of India’s current T20I setup, Jaiswal is expected to get enough recovery time before India’s next international commitments scheduled for mid-January.
Medical experts believe rest and hydration are key to recovery from gastroenteritis, and the situation is being closely monitored by the team management.
While the sudden health scare raised concerns, early diagnosis and treatment suggest that Yashasvi Jaiswal is on the path to recovery. Further updates from medical authorities or the BCCI are awaited.
