Shrimad Ramayan actor Veer Sharma and brother die in Kota fire accident

Shrimad Ramayan actor Veer Sharma and his elder brother Shoriya lost their lives in a devastating fire accident at their home in Kota, Rajasthan. The tragic incident occurred around 2 am on Sunday when the brothers were alone in their fourth-floor flat at Deepshree Building in the Transport Nagar area.

How the fire broke out

According to Kota police, a short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire in the drawing room of the residence. While the flames did not spread beyond that room, thick smoke quickly engulfed the flat. The children, who were asleep at the time, are believed to have died due to suffocation caused by smoke inhalation rather than burn injuries.

Circle Inspector Bhupendra Singh confirmed that neighbours noticed smoke coming from the flat and rushed to help. They broke open the door, pulled the unconscious children out, and attempted to save them using fire extinguishers installed in the building. Despite their efforts, the boys could not be revived.

Parents were away from home

At the time of the incident, the children’s father, Jitendra Sharma, who works as a teacher at a private coaching centre, was attending a late-night bhajan programme. Their mother, actor Rita Sharma, was in Mumbai for professional commitments. The parents were informed immediately, and the children were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

The bodies were later handed over to the family after Rita Sharma returned from Mumbai. Honouring the family’s decision, the brothers’ eyes were donated to an eye bank.

Investigation and FIR

Kota Superintendent of Police Tejeshwani Goutam inspected the site on Sunday morning. She confirmed that the fire was confined to the drawing room and reiterated that a short circuit is the primary cause suspected. An FIR has been registered under Section 194 of the BNSS Act, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events.
